昨天在逛世貿一館的台北樂器展

聽到Yamaha攤位王心妤老師拉的小提琴

正是我找尋已久卻不知道名字的古典樂木星

原來它是英國作曲家Holst行星組曲中的之一

而我最愛的片段又是木星裡面的一小段 3:00開始

後來經過youtube亂連的結果(誤

發現這小段曲竟然廣為流傳

1) I Vow To Thee My Country

歌詞來自英國爵士Cecil Spring-Rice所寫的愛國詩

而這首歌的產生則是Holst和Spring-Rice的女兒就讀同一個學校

意外地促成這首歌的結合

成為英國家喻戶曉的愛國歌曲在任何場合都可能會出現

這也是36歲早逝的黛安娜王妃很喜歡的歌曲在她婚禮和葬禮時皆有撥放

澎湃的管弦樂加上意境深遠的歌詞

對於奉獻一生給國家的政治人物

兩位首相邱吉爾和柴契爾夫人這首歌在他們的葬禮上全場頌唱無疑是最佳代表
